Would a flat panel be unbalanced if one side was glued with urea resin and the other with PVA?

Its better than nothing on the other side but is still unbalanced. The shrinkage of PVA is much greater than urea resin. Of course its all a matter of degree. The larger and thinner the panel the more it matters. Also, how this panel will be fastened is a part of the picture as well. If its a free swinging inset door I wouldn't do it with two different glues. Lets say its a small panel in a fixed frame then I would say its OK.

I'm not sure why you would go through the trouble of using different glues on one panel. Seems like more work than using just one glue since I always glue both sides at the same time.

I didn't glue up both sides at the same time because the inside of the door is a different veneer than the outside (very dark inside, very light outside), and I wanted to hide the back side veneer on the edges with the face material edgebanding and hide the edgebanding with the face veneer. So I glued up the backside, then the edgeband, then the face veneer. Details, details.

I used urea resin on the backside but didnt really have to. Thought I may be able to use PVA on the face just to save a couple bucks.

I went ahead and used urea on the face just to be safe.

Thanks for the input anyway, I really appreciate it. I guess I knew the answer all along.
