You have a few options. One, you can add on a additional platen just butted up to the main one with a spline of biscuits to roughly line up the two platens, no glue needed. As long as the grooves from one platen to the next line up, your fine.
Second you can let your panel overhang the existing platen. As long as you have 1/4" or thicker cauls, the transition off the platen wont hurt your panel. Since the platen covers most of the panel the extra two feet isn't really an issue with air evacuation.
By the way, you really don't need to run the grooves in your platen so close together. Even every 12" on center is totally fine. Thats as close as Ive ever done it.
