I need to perform some veneering that is going to require the use of at least the 49 x 97 inch bag. Will the Compact 100 pump be able to properly evacuate the larger bag?

I've got a Compact 100 and a 49" by 97" bag. The pump evacuates the bag sort of slowly, but it works just fine. If I have a bulky pressing with a lot of air to move, I often seal the bag almost completely, leaving enought room for the small nozzle of my shop vac. I pull out most of the air with the vac, then seal it up and use the pump for the rest.

Same here - start with your shop vac & finish with the vacuum pump.
