A while back (couple of months) I saw a post on this subject. Here is what I have done. I have a table saw equipped with an Incra Miter Express (just a fancy sled) and I place a vertical board against the fence and a horizontal piece of plywood or MDF flat on the table of the sled. Then place the veneer on the flat piece and another plywood on horizontally to make a sandwich. Square it up, clamp and hold it tight with my hand (very carefully) and cut. Works every time, cross grain, rip, or burl. I know this Blasphemy, but it really works. Minimal sanding required afterwards.
Just thought I'd pass this along.
