I am building a frame press for just flat work. I plan to make the base a torsion box design with plastic laminate for the surface. I intend to install the vac port up thru the bottom of the base. I will have a piece of 1/2" mdf with grooves cut for the platten. There will be a hole in the bottom of the platten that will sit over top of the vac port.
Does this sound insane? Or could it possibly work??
My other alternative is to attach the vac port to the vinyl itself.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I think you'll have much better success coming up through the table than through the membrane. Thats the way we do it.
