I am seting up a new small bag and platten. I want to put it on a shelf under a work table so I can use it at any time without having to drag it out and set it up. I'm concerned about the support under it. It will be level but not with solid support as if it were on my workbench. It will be sitting on 4 cross braces of the table, and they are strong.
When in use, won't the air pressure be the same under it, pushing up, as the air pressure on top, pushing down ? If so I shouldn't have problem should I ?
Thanks for any advice.

DKA,

You'll be fine as you described as long as your supports are straight and level. Pressure is equal from all sides. I would suggest a sheet of something on top of you supports, it can even be a piece of cardboard. The reason for this is to keep the underside of the bag up against your platen. Without it your bag will sag down between your supports leaving large air pockets. This can increase you evacuation time considerably before the bag begins to apply pressure.

Sincerely

I didn't mention that the crossmembers are covered with a sheet of 1/4 " plywood and the bag and platten lay flat on it.
Thanks
