It is usually recommended that a new pressing of veneer onto a substrate be stood up in the open overnight, presumably to continue curing and to dry out. What would be recommended for two ply veneer that has just come out of the vacuum bag? Can't even leave it uncovered on a flat surface overnight as it might curl up.

I always lay a piece of plwood or something over it, it will curl up if you leave it flat, or standing up. If using unibond 800 I always put a little in a plastic baggie. Then estimate my time of curring with the mixture and temperature. I then make sure the sample has hardened, then leave it in the bag another 30 minutes past my calculations.

You know what I think I mis read your question. In my mind I thought you were just making a 2 ply. Then leaving overnite before pressing onto a substrate. So never mind anything I said as I'm confused.
