Subject : Veneering a large custom headboard w/ Maccassar ebony

I just got a project for a large headboard 13' long 8" tall with a slight raidus about 12" along the 13' length, does anyone have a good way to
veneer this kind of panel with good seamlines,

Is the grain running the short way or the long way? I also dont get what kind of a head board for a bed is that long. Can you describe it more?

Your post gave the headboard dimensions as 13 feet by 2/3 feet which does not sound likely. Could you confirm? Can't imagine how that would be a headboard.

Regarding seams, if grain runs the short direction seems like there wouldn't be a problem - the veneer I have purchased almost always is 8' 3" long. If you were wanting to run the grain the long direction, you could contact distributors to see if they have longer lengths. If not, i've butted two ends together before in a pinch (although not for the face side) and the joint was as tight as joints with the grain. Could you expand on your question regarding seams?
