Subject : Veneer on hardboard

I am thinking about applying some non-paper backed veneer to 1/4" hardboard. I will be using veneer glue from Constantines and plan to use a laquer finish. Can anybody tell me of potential problems? Different methods?
The panels will be 6" x 15" and used for frame and panel sides on a dresser.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

People refer to hardboard as different things but if you are referring to what I call masonite, dont do it. Untempered masonite will allow its fibers to be come out with the veneer if you pull on it. Tempered masonite does not provide good adhesion.

1/4" mdf would be a good choice (veneer both sides though).
