Subject : source for dyed veneer?

I am trying to find a source for brightly colored veneers. i.e. red, blue, green and yellow. Preferably in the 1/28 thick or thicker range. Or can I dye it myself and get the color all the way throughout? any help would be appreciated.

Ken: Constantines sells dyed veneer. You can contact them at 1-800-443-9667 or at www.constantines.com. As far as dying your own, I've never tried it, but I have a book that suggests that alcohol based analine dyes work pretty well. The veneer has to be left in the solution for several hours and possibly for a few days to penetrate completely. Each type of veneer will absorb the dye differently. The book is called Simple Marquetry by Mike Burton if you want to check it out further.
