Subject : Panel Veneering

Hi Keith,
I was wondering what is the best way to build a cabinet door.
Veneer oversize piece than cut to size on tablesaw? Or would making the door corect size with oversize veneer, than trim? My second question is what is the best way to glue or attach the solid frame or edge to the door?

Thanks

JD,

You can do it either way but I prefer to veneer an oversized panel and trim it afterwards.

As far as your second question, I need further clarification. Is the solid wood a frame and panel arrangement or are you just mitering some strips around the edge of the veneered panel?

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

Thanks for answering my question Darryl,
My second question would be for either tounge and groove or say a raised panel application, like doors on an armoire.

Thanks,
JD
