To what extent can finish problems develop if residual glue from veneer tape remains on the veneer surface? How do you know for sure all glue has been removed so that it will not interfere with finishing?

Dear Craig,Veneer tape glue residue will definately leave discoloration under the finish. I scrape and sand very well or run my whole panel through a wide belt sander which leaves me with no glue residue. To be sure, I wipe the panel with water to double check.SincerelyDarryl Keil: To what extent can finish problems develop if residual glue from : veneer tape remains on the veneer surface?
