Subject : Question: Veneering over Nidacore

Hi Guys,Does anyone have any experience using Nidacore panels? It's a plastic honeycomb that you get with a variety of facings - including a thin birch three ply. It's essentially a ready made torsion box. We'd like to veneer over it but are concerned about putting the product into a vacuum bag - will it collapse under pressure? Thanks,Kim Carleton GravesCarleton Woodworking

Dear Kim,I have used Nidacore before and find it to be very strong, vacuum pressure would never crush it. The only hassle with it is attaching your nosing to the edges. It has to be epoxied on.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hi Guys,: Does anyone have any experience using Nidacore panels? IT's made to be skinned and likely most of that skinning is Vacuumed ! & it looks "sturdier than it's paper/(Resin Impregnated) honeycomb cousin . I don't think you have any thing to worry about and that is the beauty of Honey comb !;spatial/ strength gain / torsion box qualities and ease !I was wondering why not use the paper honey comb? when the polypropalene is sure to be more money ?Looks like a great site BTW .Thanks Chris
