Frank, I have read in some of your answers that you use conversion varnish on your furniture to fill pores and high build. I have talked to my suppliers and they recomend not using it because it is highly carcenagenic (at least thier product is). I have been trying to find a finish that I can use to build up and also fill the pores on some of the veneers I use like block mottled Makore' and cab lacquer will lift if I apply to many coats or if I use the vinyl sand and sealer to fill the pores then when I spray the lacquer on it mimmicks the pores and there is more sanding to do. Which conversion varnish do you use and is this the correct product to use?

Dear Jeff,I find it odd that your supplier of conversion varnish does not recommend their own product, what are they doing selling something they feel is dangerous? Anyway, although conversion varnish may not be the healthiest finish, if used moderately I would not avoid using it. It does fill very nicely, both Frank and I use it. I have used Serwinn Williams brand with good results. Get a good respirator with proper ventilation and I think you will be OK.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Frank, : I have read in some of your answers that you use conversion varnish : on your furniture to fill pores and high build.
