Dear Ed,There really is'nt a blank answer for that, it depends on the shape of the form. In generalI make the interior circumference of the bag 12" larger than the circumference of the form.SincerelyDarryl Keil: How much larger than than the size of my form should a custom bag be?

Maybe you might want to pass that info along to whoever does the custom sizing at your place. The bag we received from you for a custom form, of which a drawing complete with sizes was furnished, was drastically undersized. I would also add that the 12" number does seem fairly appropriate - for a bag that only has one edge that must be closed. For very large bags which have three open seams, such as the one your company furnished us, even more oversizing ought to be taken into account, as shopmade closures do not have the very narrow profile that the standard "C" clip and stick method. Based upon my experience so far, I think that 18" extra, rather than 12", would be appropriate. While I understand that custom bags are priced by size, and that you try to keep the size down to keep the cost to your customer as low as it can be, cutting the size close, particularly on very large bags for large forms, can hurt more than help. Can you imagine my dismay upon receiving the bag and discovering that I had to build another form entirely because the bag we received would not fit the form that we sent the measured sketch of ?Other than this, I must say that I am very happy with the Vacupress system - this is easily one of the most powerful and versatile tools that I have in my arsenal as a professional cabinetmaker and custom woodworker.I will send along some pictures of these large pieces that we are fabricating when they are done. They are extremely large (14' x 6' x 1 1/8" !!) veneered with European Brown ash (one of the more ornery, splintery woods I have ever worked with, lol).: Dear Ed,: There really is'nt a blank answer for that, it depends on the shape of the form.
