Folks,Couple of quick questions:What type of tape is used to seal bag material to the substratewhen veneering, patching or repairing objects too large to putin a bag or frame ? What kind of connector arrangement is used for the vacuum line ?I have a separate need to construct some specialized vacuumclamping jigs and frames. What kind of glue works best onpolyethylene, and ...Can i obtain the tape, connectors, bag material, pass thruconnectors for custom bladder construction, and polyethyleneglue from vacupress ?thanksWilliam KingAustin Texas

Dear William,The boat building industry uses a soft somewhat sticky, putty like tape to seal the bag material to the work. I personaly dont like it because of its gooeyness. I just use masking tape or packaging tape. You are never going to get a perfect seal with this method so I dont try. I use a nipple patch that would normally attach to our bags. You can get all this stuff from us except the polyethelene glue as I dont know what will glue it. It seems like nothing sticks to the stuff. I cant help you on that one.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Folks,: Couple of quick questions:: What type of tape is used to seal bag material to the substrate: when veneering, patching or repairing objects too large to put: in a bag or frame ? : What kind of connector arrangement is used for the vacuum line ?: I have a separate need to construct some specialized vacuum: clamping jigs and frames. I build up a frame of baltic Birch plywood 1" thick 1 1/2"wide ID 6x9". The vacuum seal is nothing more than closed cell neoprene sealing tape. Cover the top of the box with 1/16" gum rubber. Screw a plate of plexiglas with a few pre-drilled 1/4" holes in the center of the plexiglas. (Needed to equalize the pressure) over the gum rubber. Put in a 3/4'screw with washer every 3/4" and 3/4" inside the frame. Don't drill all the way through the frame. Put a male quick disconnect nipple on the side of the frame. Connect to your vacuum pump. Press down and turn the pump on. The only draw back,(no pun intended) is with PVC and Poly you can see your work.If you need further information E-mail me and I'll give you my phonenumber. Let me know how it worked.Good luck
