Use caution when using masking tape on veneer. I pressed some veneer when making a harp back. The masking tape took some of the veneer with it. Drafting tape works well without any pull off. Good luck

Along with masking tapes agressive adhesion, it can also be thick enough to leave an indentation in the veneer when removed. This means more sanding to get the veneer smooth and level.Darryl: Use caution when using masking tape on veneer. I pressed some veneer : when making a harp back. I also found that you get some glue residue on the veneer. It mightnot be a problem, but you only find out when you put the finish on.: Along with masking tapes agressive adhesion, it can also be thick enough to leave an indentation in the veneer when removed.
