Subject : Concave Door Fronts

I have to veneer a whole house full of concave door and drawer fronts with many different types of veneer. I allready made substrate out of bending poplar do I have to make another set of forms for convave fronts? Some of the veneers are walnut burl with no backs concerned about bleed thru. Dear Bill,You can veneer both sides on the form you already have, one veneer between the door and form and the other veneer between the door and bag. You can also put the door in the bag all by itself and let the bag press the door directly on both sides. You would do this with a fexible caul between the veneer and bag as well as a bleeder fabric on top to provide good air evacuation to the exit nipple.As far as bleed thru on walnut burl, you will end up getting some. As long as you scrape and sand it clean you will be fine. You may want to consider laying up you burl veneer on another backer grade veneer in the flat first. This way you can sand your two ply veneer in the flat and then press that on the door.
