Dear Bob,I wish you luck, especially with the veneer on fiberglass. I have not heard of anyone trying that, not to mention using yellow glue. I would like to hear how that goes.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Thanks all for your helpful hints and suggestions. I will most probably try several methods in mock-up and testing with some backer board stock I have. I'll let you know how it goes in the next week or so. : Here's my plan right now: I have also considered some backing materials, and believe this might be the key? I intend to try a close weave fiberglass cloth running at 45 deg to the grain. This should provide flexibility with, and accross, the grain while supporting the veneer butt-joints of the marquetry layup. The initial pressing will be a typical face taped top veneer with a very thin poly-glue (Titebond is what I have on hand right now) and directly flat (vacuum) pressed onto the fiberglass cloth. The trick, I suppose, will be to take the finished flat veneer panel and curve it around the cylinder (positive mold) of the beverage container WITHOUT cracking the glue line and veneer!: .....wish me luck!: Bob D.
