I have used several adhesives in my veneering work, with varying results. I find the two part adhesives to be less than user friendly, and I am always looking for other options. Has anyone tried polyurethane adhesives, like Gorilla for veneering? what results have you had. I plan to run a test or two and I will post my results to interested parties. Any info you might have would be welcomed. Thanks!! Richard

Richard,Polyurethane glue works fine for veneering although I dont make it my primary veneering glue. Its quite thick and unfriendly to spread in my opinion and you need to be careful about over glueing with this type of glue as it will foam considerably leaving a mess to clean up afterwards. I mainly use it when I am bonding to an unusual substrate like plastic where regular veneering glues do not adhere well.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have used several adhesives in my veneering work, with varying : results. : I too have wondered about poly glue. I took a class at Phil Lowe's place in MA and noticed they use poly glue. They were building a vanity while I was there and they used poly to veneer it. I had great results with the Unibond, but I have almost the whole gallon left and it is garbage. As a hobbyist, I just don't do enough veneering to use a gallon of it. Plus, its something I have to mail order and can't get quickly, whereas poly glue is readily available. How are you going to spread it over large areas? Some brands seem easier to spread than others. I'd be interested in your results and techniques. I may play with some this weekend to try and get a feel for using it. I'm starting a small hall table that will have a veneered top and sides.
