I am currious as to how you would veneer a mountain bike, I know of a company that makes a veneered bike, and would like to do one myself. I have talked to a few people about this idea, and they think its impossible, which makes me want to do it more. My first question is: What kind of glue would work best? I am going to continue to ride the bike, so it will see some weather, and mud, I was thinking polyurathane glue, does that sound like it would work? I was planning on using curly maple veneer, and I am really only worried about areas in the frame where the shape changes from a cylinder to an oval. Do you have any suggestions about how to do this?

John,Polyurethane is the right glue for the job. As far as the change from round to oval, you will have to experiment. As long as the transition is not to abrupt you should be able to do it. Any parts of the frame that curve would be the big problem.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I am currious as to how you would veneer a mountain bike, I know of : a company that makes a veneered bike, and would like to do one : myself.
