Art,Once you have pressed the honeycomb to the skins at lower pressure you would turn it back up to 25"HG for the veneering part. As far as an extra layer of 1/8" baltic birch on the back, I think you would be OK with that. I cannot say for sure as I have not tried every combination there is, and your idea is not one I've done. There will be some movement but it should be acceptable considering your other conditions.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Chuckle ... no rest for the weary ... first question after the forum : is back up and running.: Two questions ...: 1. Pressure for honecomb .. I understand that when putting the first : layer of ply on the honeycomb you should reduce to about 15" .. what : about when you then put the veneer on? Should that be at the same : 15" or broght back up to 25" ?? I will have solid wood edging in the : sandwich on all 4 sides.: 2. Trying to save/avoid resawing veneer for the back side ...: The layup is 1/2" comb + 1/8" baltic ply + 3/32 resawn veneer. On : the back side .. could I simply use another layer of 1/8" birch : instead of resawing more veneer ? The top will be held down all : around the perimeter with screws coming up from the base.: Art
