Don,The differences in veneer tapes are relevant to how big industry uses it not so much the small guy. First, there is no one hole veneer tape, not that Ive ever heard of. As far as white or brown, no hole or two hole, this is about sanding the tape off. Darker tape on darker woods, lighter tape on lighter woods, if a bit of fiber is left behind it wont show up much. Large manufacturers use a lot of tape so having holes makes for less tape to sand off. None of this really matters to you and I. I re-wet the veneer tape to remove it so sanding is not relevant. I usually use no hole tape because its a little stronger, useful when I have a difficult veneer to tape up.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have seen mention of white solid, white 1 hole, white 2 hole, brown solid, brown 1 hole, and brown 2 hole. Do these : represent six different performance characteristics? Would one want to have several different versions of veneer tape? : Thanks.
