Subject : new to veneering

I have never worked with veneer before and saw a project in popular mechanics that I would really like to undertake. All of the veneering is to flat surfaces. Any recommendations as to things to look for and avoid. The project calls for pomele sapele. I have read a little on the bonding process and seems like it can be very easy for a beginner to make a mistake. Any comments would be appreciated.

Marty,I cant practically give you a crash course on veneering on the forum but I can recommend two sources of information that should get you going. One is a book by Taunton Press called " The Veneering Book"The other is a video we have made called " Working with Veneer". Does the video come in DVD and what is the easiest method of bonding veneer for a beginner to a substrate and does the video cover that?Also how do I order the video? I saw where it is on the site and price, but no way to order.
