Some veneers allow just enough glue through to glue the protective paper down. Satinwood is the wood of the day. Sure takes a lot of effort to scrape and sand it off. I have in the past used melamine as the caul which does not get glued to the work but leaves the glue of the surface of the veneer to be sanding off.. I do use Yellow glue. so? alternatives?

There really isn’t any fool proof way to stop all bleed through on Satinwood, porous thing that it is. Better to use a melamine caul and scrape than have to scrape of paper as well. You might consider our yellow glue option called Unibond One. It has a bleed through blocker built into it. I wont guarantee you’ll get no bleed through but it will definitely reduce it if it doesn’t block it completely.
