If you have a rotary vane pump you could consider getting new vanes for it as vanes wear down to some extent over time and are not as tight in the vacuum chamber, resulting in less vacuum. The other option is to leave it as is. 22"HG is really quite fine and being able to get a few "HG higher is not going to benifit you much, if anything. Brand new oiless rotary vane pumps generally pull about 26"HG so you would only gain 2"HG by putting in new vanes which is not worth, it in my opinion.
