Wondering how many leaves of veneer can be flattened at once when using a vacuum bag for clamping. It takes a couple minutes to brush on flattening solution on each side of each leaf of veneer, but otherwise the handling side doesn't seem to create any limitations. Is there any reason not to flatten eight, twelve, or more leaves in one stack in a vacuum bag? My approach is 2-3 sheets of dry paper, screen, leaf, screen, paper, screen, leaf, screen, paper, . . .

Don. I just finished flattening 16 pcs of burl at one time. I used 3/4 mdf for cauls top and bottom and recycled rosin paper between each leaf. I also alternated the direction of each leaf and had the mdf overhanging about 3/8 on each side. The one thing about multiple leaves is the bag wants to suck into the gap between the cauls so just be sure your pieces are oversized. It did work very well. Aaron
