A table leaf I've been asked to replicate is 29/32" thick. I would be using 3/4" mdf with hardwood edging under the veneer. I'm guessing that, to confidently make up the needed thickness, I'd have to use on each side a two ply consisting of a leaf of 1/16" cherry veneer and one leaf of the typical 1/40" cherry veneer. Are these two plies going to want to curl like crazy overnight if I press the two plies one day and glue them to the core the next day?
