Search didn't find any mention in last year.

Friend is asking me to vacuum press teak wood-on-wood veneer to kerfkore with 2" hardwood edging on sides. As I understand the process, lay KK on platen with slits down, apply glue to the paper coating, apply veneer and press. After full cure, turn KK over and lay in pattern (18" radius), apply glue and backer wood-on-wood, press.

I'm willing to make test pressing without guarantee, what adhesive should I use? I'm expecting rigid adhesive would be bad, at least on first press.

After pressing both sides, he wants to veneer top and bottom edges with more teak wood-on-wood. Is it necessary to fill any remaining gaps in the Kerfkore slots, and if so what is best?

If anyone has experience, what challenges and difficulties? He bid the job based on assurances from Kerfkore personnel but doesn't have a vacuum bag. Their online videos all show contact cement as the adhesive.

Thanks in advance.

I can't see how you could get away without filling the voids in the KK.

Bondo is your best bet.
