Is the new formulation of Unibond 800 more or less likely to cause staining of certain woods (like curly cherry)?

Bryan,

We did a number of tests on the veneers that are prone to staining but we could not get the discoloration to show up. Unfortunately this does not mean it cant happen even though we couldnt reproduce the condition in our tests. Cetain species are more prone to staining than others and it depends on the specifc tree. You could use veneers from 10 different cherry tree's with no problem and then the 11th one will have grown in condtions that cause the staining. Best solution is to use the Unibond blocker if you think the kind of veneer you're using is prone to chemical staining and do some testing on a sample.

Darryl
