A wet film gauge is a good and inexpensive way to measure wet coating thickness of both glues and finishes.

What should the wet mil thickness of the unibond 800 be?

Scott,

In my opinion, unless you are running an automated gluing system, mil thickness varies too much for custom work to give it a specific number. With that said, the average is 6mil with a range from 4 to 8mil.

I always do it by eye.
