Has anyone come up with a retrofit for the VacuClamp pods to hold wood parts that don't create a seal because they are too narrow, i.e., face frame stock?

Art,

Rather than trying to modify a VacuClamp pod I would make a long narrow one out of wood with adhesive backed closed foam tape, one that fits your specific part. If you already have the pods you can even use the same tubing, just drill the appropriate size hole to accept it.
