Howdy,
The Chicago Furniture Designers Association is having a show with Hafele Americas and Avian Board. Avian Board is a pre-made honeycomb material that is recycled cardboard honeycomb sandwiched between 4 or 8MM thick MDF sheets. www.avianboard.com
My question is about pressing pressure in the vacuum press for this Avian Board The tech person at Avian says that we should only press to 1200, not the normal 1500-1700 in our vacuum bags.
First of all, what are these numbers in inches of Mercury?
And, can I press these honeycomb boards with "less" than normal pressure so they don't collapse or bow?
Unlike VPS honeycomb, these are pre-laminated with the substrate, so inner ribs are a...an issue.
I can glue on outer edges, but no inner ribs without digging out honeycomb. UGH
On foam stuff I generally back off on the amount of pressure, so can I do the same here?
Thanks!
