Subject : Considering buying a Total Air System need advice

Greetings from very cold central Pennsylvania. I'm currently a hobbyist who occasionally builds custom work for other people. My ambition is to retire and hopefully build custom furniture.

I interested in buying a Total air system with a 49 X97 30 mil poly bag. My question is this a good system? I used one of these once before at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship. My interest is in expanding my ability to do curved work.

Any advice is welcome.

Grouse,

This would be a fine system for you as long as you have sufficient compressed air to drive the Total Air pump. You would need about a 3hp compressor. The other option would be to get the Standard pump instead which doesn't use compressed air but has its own built in vacuum motor.

By the way, the vacuum presses at the CFC school you went to were the Standard pumps not the Total air ones.
