I am getting ready to glue in veneer in-lays on a 1/2" thick piece of Maple MDF. The in-lay material as well as the slots in which they fit were cut on a CNC and fit perfectly. I am planning on using Unibond 800 and sliding panel (24x60) into my vacuum press. Concerned about the Unibond oozing out of the seams and either compressing into the surface (which I have had happen) or being impossible to remove without sanding through the veneer. Other than using as little glue as possible, any suggestions?

I find the best way to prevent the problems you're worried about having is by using a glue release on the area surrounding where the inlays will be glued in. Easiest to apply BEFORE cutting where the inlay will go, as that way you don't have to worry about getting the release into where you actually want the glue to hold. But you should be able to do it now. I've had success with a product called Waxilit.
