what do you all do when applying glue over a large area? I bought the Pizi(?) unit that VacuPress sells, but I'm not 100% happy with it. One thing is that it continues to leak out glue when it's not engaged to do so. I have looked around and have seen others for sale... We don't do a lot of panels, but I don't want to struggle with the ones we do with the over and over rolling to spread the glue. Do any of you use the Klebo or Pfohl spreader? I know they are a little pricy and Darryl stopped handling them a while ago, but do they work well? I use mainly either titebond or believe it or not, good old fish glue to laminate up my plywood thicknesses. I like the fish glue because it is very strong, water soluble and has a rather long open time and not only those three reasons but wait, there's more! The glue doesn't affect the finishing of the wood at all; that's four reasons!

Thanks in advance for your taking the time to answer!

Cheers
Gary

Gary,

Fish glue in the hopper type spreaders is going to leak,no matter what brand, its a bit too viscous. With yellow glue pick a thicker one and the leakage should be very small if at all.

If you want a long open time glue what about Titebond Extend?

Darryl
