I have run into vane lock even after running air through the pump after each pressing cycle. With Daryl's help I have become proficient at taking it apart and sanding off the offending rust. I tend to press sporadically, so I'm starting to think of putting the pump in a sealed bag, maybe with some drying agent, when not in use. Anyone else have suggestions?

Wanted to bump this back to the top so you might get some response. I've sometimes been months between use and have never experienced a problem. Have you solicited help from the manufacturer? Perhaps there is a spray coating you could use, or a non-rust version of the part.
