I have a Biedermeyer console table to make consisting of European walnut, both burl and flat and rosewood. There are "S" shaped front legs veneered on 4 sides. It seems to lend itself to hammer veneering. I was thinking of making my own 2 ply. There are slight bends to the final veneer- will unibond 800 be ok? In making the 2 ply, what should be used for cauls? melamine with plastic between?

Pete,

If you make a two ply with Unibond 800 it will still be flexible enough to bend on your "S" shaped legs.

For cauls, melamine with plastic between should be fine.
