i have recently taken a class in compound bending and the final decorative veneer, usually needs to have relief cuts or parquetry as part as the design.. in this application i dont want to make relef cuts in the decorative veneer.. i just want to lay the whole thing up..
well here is the question.
i have read about glycerin and other products on the market that help plasticize veneer usually to flatten. what is your opinion on use this stuff to put a compound bend in shop sawn veneer approximately a light 16th/ heavy 32nd thick?
product recommendation?
experience?
moronic?

Jason,

With shop sawn veneer it is highly unlikely that you will get your veneer to compound bend with or without a softening/flattening solution. With commercially sliced veneer you should have much better success.
