Subject : Protecting Veneered Panels After Glue Up and Intial Scraping/Sanding

I have some 4 by 4 foot panels that are veneered and are going to be outsourced for trimming on a panel saw. Also, I will be fitting some edging on them. During these processes, I would like to protect that panels by having a "Stick On" self adhesive film. Does anyone know of a source for something economical and readily available?

I have looked at the film marketed at big box stores to protect carpet during homeshows, etc. This stuff seems to have a pretty aggressive tac to it and I am wondering if it may tear up some veneers when removed.

This would also be a nice way to protect some panels that I might glue up and store for some time in the shop until the right project comes along.

Hi Roger

I used that product once to transport some curly maple table tops I made for syracuse university. I had no problem. nor did I hear any negative feedback from my client. don't apply pressure , just let it fall on.
