That's right, I did it. Walnut burl end table and I sanded through a small area. Is there a fix, or do I send it to the scrap pile??

That depends how bad it is, where it is, and the grain of the veneer you sanded through on. On a mild sand through I have used paint and magic markers to "paint" the grain back in. If that wont work then I would consider cutting out the bad area. Walnut burl should be one of the better veneers to do this with as its easier to patch in a piece and not have it stand out on you, especially if your cut out follows the grain somewhat.
