Subject : changing thickness of honeycomb resin paper
Posted : 2006-01-17 10:19 PM
Post #32719

I am attempting to build a tapered torsion box and I was
curious if resin core paper can be shaped. (maybe with a router) to fit
into a taper. I would need to change the actual thickness of the paper core, not
just cut out a wedge shape. Would it be easier to just build a tapered lattice instead.

Thanks,

Willie

Willie,

Sorry to say, but I dont think it will work. Most likely the honeycomb will break apart or mush over when you try to taper it.
