I have the wonderful opportunity to set up a brand new shop in my basement. The kind of work I do is custom cabinetmaking and try to incorperate some kind of veneer or marquetry.

I am looking for insight and design ideas to organize my shop in a proper fashion. I would love to hear about how people store their veneers, workstations etc or any tips that they have discovered.

Thanks in advance.

Jim

JRock,

Ive always kept my veneer in an out of the way place so nothing else would get pilled on top or bumped around.

The way I store mine is a 16" wide shelf about a foot down from the ceiling. I get the largest metal shelf brackets made from the local hardware store. Usually about 12" and put 1/2" thick wafer or underlayement board on top of it. This is an area of most shops that is not utilized and its so out of the way that the veneer doesnt get damaged. I usually run this self all the way around the room.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil
