I am constructing a kidney shaped podium, does anyone have experience with Timberflex board or similar products? Is it better to use Kerfed products such as this or to use bending ply as a substrate.
Pressing a figured sycamore should I use PVA glue or Unibond, if the later what kind of bleed thur could I expect with a paper back veneer? Should I use a lighter shade glue. If PVA, Titebond Veneer glue it has a darker tint.
Thanks for any help this is my first big veneer job. Yikes...

David,

I think you can use a kerfed product or the bending plywoods in your situation. I dont see a specific reason why you should lean towards one over the other.

As far as glue goes you can really use a PVA or Unibond. Paper backed veneers are not as demanding of the glue line as a raw veneer so either one is acceptable unless you need a long open work time then I would go with the Unibond 800. You will not get any bleed through with a paper backed veneer.

Sincerely
