I've just completed making a veneer jointing jig which sits on the sliding table of my Altendorf panel saw. It has pneumatic rams that operate a pressure beam that comes down from above to flatten and hold the veneer in place. Still needs a little fine tuning, but I will post some pictures here next week when I get a chance.

So far it works REALLY REALLY well and has finally solved my veneer jointing problem.

Hi, Anton,
I used to work for a company that used exactly the technique you have described, on an Altendorf panel saw. Usinng that technique we would joint stacks of 10 or 12 veneers in a single pass. It does work very well. The downside is that such a saw costs a pretty big bundle and it takes up some significant square footage in the shop. I'd like to see the photos none the less. Sincerely, Richard.
