Hi Darryl,

Question for you, I have access to some honeycomb panels that are sheeted with carbon fibre on both sides (Aircraft material) super strong, but not that attractive, do you have any experience veneering wood over this or other resins? Or is it trail and error? What sort of edge treatment do you use on your honeycomb panels?

Thank you
Steve

Steve,

You should be able to veneer this material fine but only a few glues like polyurethane or epoxy will probably work.

I would edge the honycomb before you veneer it although I edge it when I'm laying up the honeycomb which you cannot do since its already made. So normally there would be two edgings, the sub one when you make the honeycomb panel and the visual one you see.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil
