Subject : Over/Under mixing unibond

Lately, I have had a need for small quantities of Unibond. In mixing the stuff, I have found my scale to be to large for the task.

If I accidently mix the stuff outside the recommended proportions, what might I expect?

Lomax,

Poor bonding would be the results of going too far outside the mixing ratios. The best test for determining your bond is to thoroughly wet the panel with water. If the veneer withstands this then its usually well bonded.

I suggest a set of mesuring cups for smaller quantities. Using a 1/2 cup measure for the resin and 1/8 for the powder is a fairly small amount. This gives you a 4 to 1 by volume ratio which is ideal.
