Subject : Seams on a Panel

I need to make some 12" wide panels and have 11" veneer. Should I add the 1 instrip on the side, or spit the veneer and have the seam closer to the middle of the panel. the other option is to change my design and just make the panels 11" wide.

It depends a lot on the kind of veneer you're using but in general I would not like the look of a 1" strip along one side. I would either use two matched pieces or reduce the panel by 1".
