Subject : Is the marine urea formaldehyde glue same as Unibond?

I'm up here in Vancouver BC, and in the midst of a rather large project with some curved panels being done in the vac press. I can see now that I don't have enough Unibond to finish. So because ordering Unibond will take longer than I can wait, I did a quick search round here and found urea formaldehyde resin, with a separate powder catalyst, in a marine supply store. Is this the same stuff as Unibond? It doesn't look identical, but its viscosity is similar. Clamping times specified on its label at 70 degrees are longer than for Unibond though. This stuff should work, shouldn't it? Or is there a closer supplier round here where I can find Unibond in a hurry?

Many thanks

Enrico,

It should be somewhat similar if its a urea formaldehyde resin glue. Cant say for sure without seeing it though. I think you should be OK with it.

If you do want to get more Unibond 800 there is a dealer in Seattle, WA that stocks it. They are Edensaw Woods, Phone# 253-216-1150

Sincerely
