Is the Compact 100 system the same model as the one "Rockler" sells in thier catalog listed as "Vacupress"? I've started veneering my own panels for cabinets and such using shopsawn veneer, oak, cherry and maple, in the 1/16 to 1/8 inch range. Would this model be the right one for what I'm doing, and could I add a longer bag with this pump?

Fir,

Yes, the vacuum press you see in the Rockler catalog is our Compact 100 system. This system would be fine for what you are doing. It can be ordered with a 4x8 bag but we suggest you only use this larger bag for flat work with the Compact 100. If you wish to do curved work in a 4x8 bag then one of our professional line pumps would be recommended.

A note about you shop sawn veneer. For veneer stability I strongly suggest not to go over 1/16" for final thickness, 3/32" at tops. 1/8" is too thick.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil
